Yes. You may complete the form as soon as the person has accepted the job. You may complete the Form I-9 prior to the individual starting work, providing you are able to view the appropriate supporting documentation. In Section 2, as a “hire date,” you may use the date the individual accepted the position or the date you are completing the form, but not a date in the future. Be aware: You may not use the Form I-9 process to screen job applicants or discriminate.
