They could take readings from the odometer and then by finding the mileage for the trip they could pro rate the reimbursement stopping abuse by the saleman.in other words once they had a database built up for every possible trip they could pay/reimburse according to that trip chart. In other words any side trips would not be paid for without proof showing a necessity for that trip pertaining to a sales call.
