If Proposition 1 passes, where will the Liberty Police Precinct, which is currently in the Public Safety Building, be located?

There is an existing plan, separate from the Proposition 1 proposal, to pursue moving the Liberty Police Precinct to a location in the City’s Sugar House neighborhood, which is the geographic area it currently serves (the downtown area is served by the Pioneer Precinct). The City has begun a two-year process to research separate funding and site options for the Liberty Police Precinct in Sugar House. It is anticipated that it would take approximately 3-4 years for the Public Safety Complex project to be completed. Therefore the timing of both projects should line up to accommodate the relocation of the Liberty Precinct. Costs to move the precinct will not be part of the bond.
