If people change and the job prospects change, why spend the money on career planning?

There are many reasons to do career assessments. This is best explained by an example: if a person thinks all along that they want to travel to California, chances are they have identified something that is out there that they desire. But to move from Indiana to California is a gigantic step, and one that requires great preparation. Once the ground work is done and the person sets off for their destination of the West Coast, it is very important that they leave Indiana on 70 West, not 65 South. Along the way on 70 West, a person may veer into northern Arizona or perhaps Southern Idaho but they will still find their way to where they are going or they will reevaluate. However, leaving Indiana via 65 South to head to California can lead to many unnecessary frustrations, expenses and dangers. Obtaining a better understanding of what motivates a person, how a person thinks and makes decisions, how a person gets energized, is going to give a clearer picture as to a best path to follow.
