virtually nil, the US goverment at the time saw it as a “petty colonial squabble” but as soon as pearl harbour happened that was it the US could no longer just sit on the side lines. and to curtis B as for “giving away arms, and sending pilots to fight in the Battle of Britain” lend lease as it was known was only paid off by the UK in 2007, and there were only 7 yes 7 american pilots involved in the Battle of Britain, one of them (Billy Fiske) died in the august of 1940, without a single confirmed victory to his name, so please leave the Hollywood BS out of it and read a bit of history!!
