If my son or daughter needs special assistance due to a disability, does IUPUI have services available to assist them?
Yes. Adaptive Educational Services (AES) works to make campus life and learning accessible for students with disabilities. Students with disabilities who enroll in classes seek the same educational opportunities as other students. AES assists students with disabilities to achieve their educational goals through such services as note taking, interpreting, and test proctoring. AES’s goal is to provide the means for students with disabilities to achieve their academic goals. IUPUI is actively engaged in efforts to modify both attitudinal and structural barriers to allow students full advantage of their right to an education. As a result, new buildings are being designed as accessible facilities, older structures are being modified so that programs and activities are accessible to all, and special adaptive equipment is becoming increasingly available.
