If my household goods store in a mini warehouse/self-storage unit, will the policy continue coverage?

This really depends on your insurance coverage. As a self storage facility owner, we know that while a lot of our customers have their own home content insurance which covers their items in storage in different locations, it might make sense to pick up one of our in house policies just to be sure. Especially if your things are going to be in transit at all, you are going to need a policy that’s a little more robust.

When your household goods go into a mini warehouse/self- storage unit it is considered to be in your care and custody, and no longer is covered under the transit insurance policy.
