Actually, you can color your hair brown with a professional product “Shades EQ” by Redkin, and will help your hair. Here’s why. That particular product doesnt permently rearrange the cortex of the hair. It only coats the outer layer of the hair. When your hair is damaged the outer layer is “roughed” up. Applying Shaded EQ will help to lay the cuticle back down. And the resaon dark hair looks shinier and healthier is because Dark surfaces reflect light better then lighter surfaces. Thats why black cars look so shiny. So by “sealing” the cuticle, and going darker your will “appear” healthier. It will be just as damaged as before, but it will “look” healthier. This needs to be done by a professional. To go from light to dark takes a little more thought then just slapping on a color gloss. Hope that helps. I find that with my clients, getting them to place they are satisfied with their hairmusually helps them leave it alone long enough for it to regain some health.
