Children often make spontaneous progress during the first term at school and generally need time to settle in. Before your child enters school the SLT will discuss his/ her progress with you and whether your child still needs intervention/ monitoring. If so advice will be provided for school and yourself upon your child starting school. School will be asked to complete a proforma and return to the SLT department. Schools are encouraged to return the proforma once the child has settled in. A decision will then be taken as to the next step for your child in terms of Speech and Language Therapy.
