The “Liberal Party” here in Australia have taken the word, but the Liberal Party has the opposite policies to small-L liberals. They, like the Country/National Party are right-wing conservatives with NO liberal ideals. The true small-L liberals in Australia are the left of the ALP, some of the “Greens” and some of the left of the “Democrats”. In The United States neither the Republicans nor the Democrats can truly call themselves “liberal”. They are both conservative parties. The Democrats would be slightly to the right of our “Liberal Party” while the Republican Party is much more to the right of that. I do not know of any party in the US that holds true small-L liberal policies.
