If Jesus is the Messiah, why dont the non messianic Rabbis believe it?
The truth is, there have been non-Messianic rabbis as well as Jewish scholars who have come to the conclusion that Jesus is the Messiah. However, because they are still such a small minority, their faith is either minimized or ignored by the larger Jewish community. But there is a larger issue that this question actually exposes. Going all the way back to biblical times, the leaders of the Jewish people often rejected Gods ways and chose to not follow Him. This is indeed part of the tragic history of our people, recounted in the Bible itself. Israels kings, prophets and priests were often motivated by self-serving principles, going their own way and leading the people in that way, instead of the ways of God. Israel has even suffered much over the centuries because our leaders turned away from God so many times.
