If Jesus died and two days later resurrected it…What does he gave?
Grey Tower has dealt with the three days and three nights in the tomb, as Jesus prophesied (see Matthew 12:40). If he celebrated Passover after 6 pm on Wednesday and died at 3 pm on Thursday, three days and three nights would indeed have passed before he was resurrected. However, I’d like to focus on your question as to what Jesus gave when he sacrificed himself. Jesus had far more than a perfect human life to sacrifice! In Philippians chapter 2 we are told that prior to his coming to earth, he was in very nature God, but did not hold on to that. He emptied himself of his glory, took on the nature of a servant, being found in appearance as a man and humbled himself, being obedient even to death on a cross. Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow.
