If it is okay to have both speech systems on his computer, does he need to turn Jaws off before he opens the calculator program? Also, is it easily possible to just add the speech program without reinstalling the whole program again?

Jaws should work with the program, but more complete information is gained when using the self-voicing feature. The speech component allows for the calculator to be self-voicing. It does not interfere with Jaws if the Jaws speech is turned off before the speech in AGC is enabled. You can have Jaws automatically turn its speech off when the program starts, and then restart when the program exits, or you can do this manually. The AGC’s speech does not automatically start when the program starts (this is specifically set to avoid problems with Jaws, etc) so you can turn Jaws off after starting the AGC (but before turning on the self-voicing). It is possible to just add the speech, but not extremely easy. The easiest thing would be to un-install the AGC (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel; Add/Remove Programs; Accessible Graphing Calculator), then re-run the AGC-setup.exe program which may still be on the computer (unless you deleted it, in which case you’d need to download it again).
