If Indian constitution gives equal rights to all citizen, why there is need for various kinds of reservation?
My friend.. though undoubtedly our constitution gives equal rights to all citizens but strong section of society prevents the weaker section from availing those rights and therefore the constitution itself has made the provision of reservation to bring actual equality among Indians and not theoretical equality. We are so much engrossed in castes and religions that we have stopped recognising humanity, we think that all the people of a particular caste are intelligent and superiors and the people of a particular caste are duffers, irrespective of their education, skill, conduct or integrity. whenever we meet a new person we never think that we are meeting another human being and an Indian but we think that we are meeting with the person who belongs to X caste or Y religion, when our conduct till date is like this specially in rural India, than how can we blame our politicians for their vote banks politics.
