If Im sick and miss class, can I get an excuse from the health center?
A. Kent State University Health Services recognizes how important it is for students to attend classes. It is our policy that only the treating clinician may provide a written medical excuse for students who, in our medical opinion, need to stay home and rest, or are highly contagious. Students are responsible for contacting their professors and making up missed assignments/tests. Excuses will not be written for a past illness or one we did not treat. The walk-out statement (receipt) that students receive after paying their bill at the cashiers office is not meant to be used as a class excuse.
