If i want to take up cosmetology, what college education should i have?
I went to a community college for cosmetology and I got credits in chemistry towards my AA. There were a few girls who were still in high school who would come straight after school to the college for a few hours to take cosmetology, it is called the R.O.P program, maybe you could look into this. You don;t need any college to take cosmetology, but it is always a good idea to at least get your AA degree as a back up plan, that is why it is smarter and cheaper to go to a community college for cosmetology versus a private school, which is very expensive compared to a community college and you don’t get any college credits like you do at a community college……. also a business course could be helpful if you were to ever own your own salon. The beauty industry is a wonderful industry, but it has gotten more competitive and a degree of some sort under your belt as well is something you will never regret!
