According to the standard personnel must be appropriately trained and experienced, aware of how they contribute to the achievement of service management objectives and the service providers has to keep records of this. The EXIN certificates in IT Service Management based on ISO/IEC 20000 help to fulfill this requirement. The standard also requires regular internal audits to be performed and the EXIN qualification program includes an Auditor certificate for staff involved in this task.
