A 100mg dose of morphine in a person unused to the drug would be lethal. Standard doses for people with severe pain (eg from cancer) ranges anywhere from 2.5-10mg as a starting dose. Morphine is not indicated for relaxation. Benzodiazepines are the drugs used to assist in relaxing stressed and anxious persons (and they should only be used for a short period of time as they are addictive).
