If i switch to a vegetarian diet, will i lose weight?
People who follow a vegetarian diet eat fewer calories and less fat than non-vegetarians. However, switching to a vegetarian diet doesn’t guarantee weigh loss. Vegetarians can make poor food choices that contribute to weigh gain, such as large portions of high fat (they are likely to substitute meat for large quantities of cheese and peanut butter), high calorie foods or foods with little or no nutritional value. A vegetarian diet needs to be carefully planed; it needs to include rich-protein foods, especially if it is a diet which limits fish, eggs and dairy products. Protein is an essential nutrient that helps you feel full for a longer period of time, curbing the urge to snack.
