You can get out of your contract up until you ship out to basic. They Recruiter’s will hound you. They may try to make you feel bad, but they cannot force you to go. I went to MEPS and signed a contract for the Army while I was a junior in high school. Then I realized that the job and the life was not for me and that I only joined out of fear. I told my recruiter that I thought I had made a mistake. But, he still showed up at my house on the morning of my ship date! I did not go. He called for months after that, but I never looked back. I went to college for a while. Then, I decided to join the Navy. I leave in 2 weeks and have no doubts that it is what I want to do. Good luck!
