If I retake courses at UH, will the new grade replace the old grade for that course and raise my overall UH GPA?

No, the new grade and the old grade will both be factored into the cumulative UH GPA. For example, if a student took HIST 1376 last semester and made a ā€˜C’ then retakes it this semester and makes an ‘A’, both grades would be counted in the overall UH GPA. The higher grade does not replace the lower grade.
