If you have cirrosis you should see a doctor. Whether you should take Skelaxin (metaxalone) depends on the amount of liver damage you already have due to the cirrhosis. According to the PDR (Physician’s Desk Reference), Skelaxin should be used near caution in patients with hepatic (liver) and/or renal (kidney) impairment.
