If I move to a London research organisation will I receive additional funds for London weighting?

No, research grants will not be re-costed following transfer. The unspent balance of directly incurred and exceptions, together with a pro-rata share of directly allocated and indirect costs, will be transferred to the new research organisation. The receiving organisation will be required to confirm, by return of a starting certificate, that it will provide any balance of resources needed to complete the project. For junior and intermediate awards the fellow should ensure that the commitments are available. The MRC will also consider a request for transfer of a fellowship where a tenure-track appointment has been given by the new research organisation. Fellowships attracting London weighting payments that transfer to an outside London RO will have their London weighting payments adjusted. Only junior fellowships transferring to the London area will be eligible for London weighting payment adjustments.
