Depending on the Navy job, you might keep the same rank. If you want the Navy then go Navy from the start. They get promoted a heck of alot faster than the Air Force.

I’ve looked into this myself for the chair force and since i’m an NCO my rank would laterally transfer. However if i was E4 or below then it would depend on the MOS i had or job i had in the Army and then the job i was trying to get in the Air Force. Like i’m Artillery but say i wanted to go MP in the Air Force *or SF whatever they call it to be different* if i was E4 Artillery i would go in as E3 or maybe even E2 MP because i dont have the job experience of a Air Force E4. Its different once you get into the E5+ ranks cause then you are more of a supervisor. So i would suggest to you is to study and prepare yourself now because within 4 years you should have your E5 no problem then assuming the AF to Navy transfer is similar to Army to AF then you will retain your rank.
