If I have my lottery card reissued because of an error in my record, or if I didn’t have a card because I am studying abroad I heard that I will be receiving a half number. How do half numbers work?
Half numbers are placed in equal segments across the entire set of lottery numbers. If for example you are in a junior caucus and will be receiving a half number, your lottery number will fall somewhere between 2000 and 2256. We create half numbers every 5 cards (2001.5, 2005.5, 2010.5, all of the way until 2255.5). When the ORL issues you a half number, you will be assigned the number by a computer randomizer anywhere within your status level.
