We have designed the ALT I/O card slot (which can be equipped with any of the Mackie Digital Systems Tape cards) to provide eight extra inputs. These can be used for a fourth eight-track recorder’s returns, external auxiliary returns, or sub mix returns from a cascaded “slave” D8B. Remember, the D8B has a total of 56 inputs that can be used for any mixdown situation!
