If I had 1-1/2 days in Bruges, Brussels, what are the things to do?
Bruges and Brussels are a good hours’ drive apart by train. Been long time since I trained it though but to do both cities in 1.5 day is being over-ambitious if you ask me. Bruges has many architectural treasures. Take a horse and cart ride and take a boat trip on the canals to see as much as possible in shortest amount of time. Novotel in Katelijnestraat is about as central as it gets, I only know it from passing by but it gets really good reviews here: http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Revie⦠Food to eat; try frieten met stoofvlees, chips with beef stew in gravy prepared with sweet beer and laurel leaves (traditional way). There is a half decent chip shop in Katelijnestraat where you can eat inside not that I can think of it’s name but just past the diamond museum on the other side of the road. Couple of doors down from there is Leonidas. T
