If I don make a MYBA team can I still get on a Park & Rec team?
MYBA team decisions are made about three weeks before MPRB rosters are due. Many of the park councils, like PIRC, WESAC, LARC, SWAC and others, may have registration deadlines earlier than the MYBA decision dates. Find out from your program what would be the best way to accomodate your desires to try out for a traveling team. Some will prefer that you register for both programs, then get a full or partial refund from the council if you make a MYBA team. Others prefer that you register late in the event that you don’t make a MYBA team. Others collect a single registration that is forwarded to MYBA if you make the team, or applied towards the Park & Rec fees (with a spot on a team held) if you choose to play Park & Rec ball. One good option is to attend the first MYBA tryout and judge for yourself what the chances are of making a MYBA team. Historically about 50% of those trying out are accepted.
