If I dont live in a community with a Victim Services Office, can I still receive assistance?
Yes. You can contact the Victim Services Regional office nearest your community (see Victim Services Contacts for complete listing). You can call collect. The Regional Coordinator may be able to travel to your community to provide services depending upon where you live or provide services over the telephone. Victim Services has also established the Victim Services Assistant Program which provides limited contracted services to victims who reside outside of the direct service areas of the eleven (11) Regional offices. These services are delivered by trained para-professionals and must be arranged through the Victim Services Coordinator. These services are only available if there is a Victim Services Assistant in your area, and if it is determined by you and the Victim Services Coordinator that this service would be helpful in your situation.
