If you die before the end of the 5 year (60 month) Supplemental Retirement Benefit period, one of the following will happen. • If you took a survivor option, your survivor would receive the Supplemental Retirement Benefit until the end of the 60 month period. • If you took a straight life option, your refund beneficiary would receive a lump sum payment of the unpaid balance. • If you took a straight life option, and do not have a refund beneficiary, your estate would receive a lump sum payment of the unpaid balance.
