If I decrease the color depth to 8 or less BPP, the saved JPG file is always 24 BPP?

Please note that a JPG can be only saved as 24 BPP or 8 BPP grayscale image. JPG do not allow other BPP values. If you want other BPP values, please use formats like PNG, TIF, BMP, etc.
