Your decision to take the postgraduate diploma indicates that you do NOT intend to take the Masters dissertation module. If you later change your mind, and you are still within the time limit to complete the Masters component, you may be permitted to submit a proposal and join the module. In this case you would be required to return your postgraduate diploma parchment before rejoining your programme. You should also be aware that you may be liable to fees if you rejoin your programme in this way. You should therefore be very careful about exiting from the programme early, especially if you think that there is a possibility that you may change your mind and want to take the Masters dissertation in the future. If the time limit has passed, the only way that you could join the module would be to become a “new” Edinburgh Napier student, and join the University afresh through Customised Programmes.
