Fiber Optics has its distance limitations, but its far beyond what DSL can reach. Unlike DSL signals, fiber signals can be repeated and reach distances across the United States with repeaters and such. Unfortunately, that would be economically insufficient, and so they will be serving Fios out of your closest in-state Central Office (where you are being served right now). Since Fiber Optics isn’t distance limiting, you will be able to get the full Fios service no matter how far you live from the Central Office. This is good news for everyone!
