If I am not enrolled in my spouse’s medical plan, yet if I submit my out of pocket medical expenses to his/her Flexible Reimbursement Account, can I still enroll in the Lubrizol CDHP (HSA)?
Employees are not eligible to enroll in the Lubrizol CDHP (HSA) if they are covered by their own or family member’s general purpose health FSA or Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs). However, individuals covered by a limited scope FSA—one that covers only dental, vision, preventive care, and/or amounts after the HDHP deductible is met, can enroll. HRAs that set aside money only for retiree health expenses are also acceptable. These limited scope accounts are not very common.
