If I am a higher rate income tax payer, can my chosen charity reclaim the higher rate tax paid?
No, the charity can only reclaim tax on your gift at the basic tax rate (22% (20% from 2008/2009)). If you choose to give the tax refund to a charity of your choice, please provide us with the charity bank account details to transfer the refund to their account.
