If Hillary Clinton was born and raise in PA. why didn she run for senator there instead of NY?
New York has fairly easy residency requirements. She wanted to serve after her husbands term was over, and New York was the easiest place to get established. This was not unprecedented at all. Robert Kennedy did the same thing in 1964 after serving four years as attorney general. In both cases, it helped position them for a run at the presidency. Alan Keyes criticized Clinton heavily for being a carpetbagger for her New York campaign, and then did the same thing himself 4 years later. He moved to Illinois to run against Obama for Senator. Up until then, he had been a staunch conservative, but ran on a promise of reparations for descendants of slaves.
