If God exists why does he allow disasters to happen and for bad people to do bad things?
Disasters are of various kinds; many are the result of human activities while the others are from natural causes. Even those caused by human actions are only part of the full effects of such actions, as God, in His mercy, protects human beings from such full effects. Now, you take disasters affecting only a tiny part of the world and only a small section of mankind at any given time to be evidence of the non-existence of God. By the same argument, you should see the perfect order in the rest of the universe and the non-occurrence of disasters among the much greater part of mankind to be clear evidence of the existence of God, who must be sustaining that order, and maintaining such protection. For Muslims, believers who suffer as a result of disasters for no fault of theirs will be richly compensated in the hereafter, and the pleasures of the hereafter are much better and more lasting.
