If God decides, knows and takes care of everything, why do different religions fight or defy each other?
If, as the question presumes, God decides everything, then the answer would be: because God chose to make it that way. God’s motives in making it that way surely would be beyond mere mortal comprehension. While some theologians accept the proposition that God chooses and controls every aspect of everything, most believe that human society is not a pre-programmed or scripted event, but rather an environment wherein the participants are permitted to improvise within limits (people are “free moral agents”). From this position, it is believed conflict comes because people choose to ignore or rebel against God, inventing beliefs to suit their desires, preferences, fear of consequences/judgement or whatever. The logical conclusion of a “God decides everything” philosophy is hopeless fatalism. Nothing I do matters because I have no say or responsibility in it: it has all been chosen for me.
