If EZBoard is so expensive, why not move to another service?
This is indeed a Frequently Asked Question; Fiero used to ask it all the time. x.x; The main issues are admin control, and stagnation. Firstly, the majority of free message board services out there require some webspace with PHP facilities (which would need to be paid for in any case). I don’t have this webspace, and while people have occasionally offered to host a PHP board on their own space, it usually comes at the price of a stake in the way the board is run. Equally, if there were ever to be disagreements between me and the webspace-holder, the board could be deleted, simple as that. I’m not keen on handing a large amount of this control over to anyone I don’t know intimately. (Not *that* kind of intimately, pervert. >.>;) The second issue is of stagnation; that is, if we moved to an entirely new service, our considerable back-history of posts – as well as all of the topics we are currently involved in – would be left behind.
