Eugene Field was selected for closure in some of the options presented due to the student demographics of the District and location of the buildings. There are 197 students that reside in the current Eugene Field boundary. Horace Mann is also located in this boundary area. Under most options there were not enough students to warrant keeping both schools opened in that area. As Horace Mann is a larger school with more grounds, it was selected as the boundary school for that area of the District. Back to Top ———————– 16. Has the Board considered that many (60%) families at Eugene Field have the means to choose if their students attend public or private school? Thirty percent are affluent enough to move completely out of the City. The study is attempting to maximize the potential achievement of students so that they can compete in a global economy while operating in an efficient manner.
