If E.C.M.C. is reporting a Delayed ER status, where do I transport trauma patients to?
Trauma patients should always be transported to the trauma center, regardless of the trauma center’s emergency department status, unless specifically directed to another facility by the ECMC emergency department staff. In the rare event that the ECMC Emergency Department is unable to handle a trauma patient, the ER staff will direct the transporting agency to reroute to a specific facility at the time of the MERS report.
