If current enrollees choose to remain with their current benefits, will their premiums change?
If they have the Future Purchase Option, they will see a premium increase if they accept the inflation offer. If they decline the inflation offer and make no other changes to their benefits, there will be no change in their premium. If they have the Automatic Compound Inflation Option (ACIO) and their age at purchase was 70 or older and they make no changes to increase their benefits, they will not see a premium increase. If they have the Automatic Compound Inflation Option and their age at purchase was 69 or younger AND they choose to remain with the same benefits they have now, their premiums will increase effective March 1, 2010 (Note: This is a changeOPM approved moving the effective date for the premium increase for ACIO enrollees from January 1 to March 1, 2010).
