If conference commissioners in an unaffiliated grouping cannot come to consensus on a postseason qualifying tournament plan, what will be the process?
Conference Commissioners would be instructed to poll their institutions. If 75% of the schools are in agreement, then the plan will move forward. If less than 75% agree, then the plan reverts back to the NAC – Championship Committee for review and recommendation to the NAC – Executive Committee. Note: Percentage is tabulated based on one vote per institution. Can an institution opt out of a postseason qualifying event and still be eligible for an at-large? Answer: No. An institution must participate in the event or undeclare. Can a conference within an unaffiliated grouping appeal to the NAC to opt out of the postseason qualifying event and have their member institution(s) advance to nationals through at-large selection? Answer: A conference may appeal to the National Administrative Council for review.
