If both individuals have single coverage, they can each contribute the single contribution maximum, which for 2010 is $3,050, or a total of $6,100. If one or both of the spouses have children covered as dependents, then the combined contributions to the HSAs by husband and wife cannot exceed the family contribution maximum ($6,150 for 2010) and should be divided between them by agreement.
