If Atheists don believe in God, why do they get so emotional about Him?
Look closer…what we get “emotional” about, is when religious folks try to impose their religious dogma upon everyone else by trying to get it written into secular law. So long as your religion stays in your home or privately funded place of worship, I make no comment. I don’t even mind you preaching on a street corner — provided you’re doing it on your own dime and I’m free to challenge your claims or walk away. But when you start claiming you have a divine right to tell the rest of us how we can or can’t live, you are obliged to put up or shut up with evidence for your claim to authority over us.
As a Deist/Pantheist and an American I have a right to believe in my own form of God, not the Christian God. Atheists have a right not to believe either. I get emotional over Creationists nonsense trying to seep its way into American Public schools. I have a B.A. in Anthropology. I will not stand for attacks on science.
you have it backwards atheists dont get emotional about any god, as you say, they dotn believe in any but as atheists are still just human beings, and in the same soceity as gods beleivers, we are entitleed to get ’emotional’ about that surely thats not a problem how much is relaly being forced on you wow, thats quite ignorant or a state of denial sorry to be so blunt, but realy, if you rnot atheists and are beleivers, you cant expect to understand what its like can you
Because when religion is allowed to go unchallenged, people wind up getting burned at the stake, or are convinced by others that it is a really good idea to fly planes into buildings, or blow themselves up in a cafe, or life saving medical procedures like blood transfusions & organ transplants get banned, not for any scientific or medical reason, but that they are ‘contrary to the will of God’.
