Good question!! The Greek and Roman gods and goddesses are typically used to represent the archetypes, presumably because they are the most widely known. The archetypes themselves are actually universal, appearing in all eras and across all cultures (even though their names and stories differ). As this site grows we will be including gods and goddesses from other cultures as well as the ones that are featured currently. Check out the information at Goddesses Across Cultures if you’re interested in learning more about other goddesses and how they correspond to the ones on the site.
