If a system shuts down for long periods, the heater can absorb moisture. With many power controllers, a full “on” can blow the heater or fuses. If a POWER SERIES controller is equipped with the heater diagnostics option, you can use the heater bake out feature to soft-start the heater and slowly drive out moisture. For details, see the “Phase Angle” section in Chapter 5 of the user’s manual.
