To correctly report the patient visit in 15-minute increments, you would only report the amount of time the nurse provided care related to that patient. Any time spent on the phone call, which was unrelated to this patient, would not be counted towards this patient’s visit. For example, if the total visit was 25 minutes, but the nurse’s phone call (unrelated to this patient), was 10 minutes, then the nurse visit would be considered 15 minutes, and reported as 1 unit.
