If an incoming ninth grade student has earned a grade of D or F in a high school course taken in middle school, is the student required to re-take the exact same course for grade forgiveness?
Pursuant to S. 1003.413 (3) (e), F.S., grade forgiveness policies can replace a grade of D or F with a grade of C or higher earned subsequently in the same or comparable course. For example, students who failed Algebra I can retake any of the comparable courses that satisfy the Algebra I requirement.
