If an employer offers an employment contract document and the employee signs the document, is a contract in effect?
In general, a contract is in effect when both parties have signed it. However, if both parties take actions which indicate that they have accepted the contract, the relationship may become binding because of their actions. In litigation, the court would look at whether there was a “meeting of the minds”.
